‘Veruthu Oru Bharya’ into profits

As expected, Jayaram's new film ‘Veruthe Oru Bhraya’ has reached the break even in its third week itself. A movie made at a low budget of 1.3 Lakhs, the movie has been registering good collections all over the state. This was admitted by its producer, Salahudeen, in the Meet the press at Kozhikkodu.

''I had my reservations, when the director Akku Akbar asked for Jayaram to do the lead role. As the actor was going through a rough patch, I never expected such a surprise hit from him. But I had all the belief on Akku who insisted that he will do the flick only with Jayaram'', said the producer.

The director of the movie, Akku Akbar, who was also present in the meet, said that all he wanted was to make a good film that can speak for itself, among the family audiences. This is my first independent film in Malayalam and truly, I never expected such an applause for the film,''Akku opened his minds.

''I had approached many other heroines to do the title role. But most was unwilling to don the character of the mother of a 14 year old girl. But Gopika instantly agreed to do the role when she heard the one line. I am glad that she had thus saved the best role of her career for this film, sometimes, her last film in Malayalam,'' added a much relaxed Akku.
